Celeste Thomas

Director: Head Of Marketing OTC at Cipla South Africa

Celeste Thomas has a strong background in marketing and pharmaceuticals, with a significant portion of their career spent at Cipla. Celeste joined Cipla Medpro in 2008 as a Research Officer and later became the Manager for Antibiotics, NSAIDs, and Other Marketing. In 2015, they transitioned to Cipla, where they served as a Marketing Manager for Respiratory and Entiro. Celeste was later promoted to Associate Director for OTC Marketing, specifically for Respiratory and Gastro, including Probiotics. Celeste continued their career progression at Cipla South Africa, where they currently hold the position of Director and Head of Marketing for OTC products.

Celeste Thomas has a strong educational background with a focus on marketing and business. Celeste completed a Digital Marketing Course at the Red & Yellow Creative School of Business in 2018. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2017, they attended the Stellenbosch Business School where they participated in the Senior Management Development Program, which was a custom mini-MBA.

Before pursuing their business studies, Celeste obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the University of Stellenbosch in 2008. Celeste also holds a Masters degree in Physiology, which they achieved with honors in 2007, and an Honours BSc degree in Physiology, also with honors, in 2004, both from the University of Stellenbosch. Celeste's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Human Life Sciences from the University of Stellenbosch, which they completed from 2001 to 2003.

In addition to their formal education, Celeste has obtained additional certifications to further enhance their skills and knowledge. In March 2021, they completed the Exponential Leadership: Digital Tech & Value Creation Programme from INSEAD Executive Education.
