Dan F.

Dan F. has a diverse work experience in the field of technology, with a strong focus on systems administration and engineering. Dan started their career as an Engineering Technician at Percept Technology in 2000. From 2004 to 2007, they worked as a Unix Systems Administrator at the University of Colorado, where they were primarily responsible for managing Linux servers and workstations.

In 2006, Dan joined Virtela Communications as a Senior Server Engineer, initially serving as the company's Unix Systems Admin before transitioning to work on a critical customer application. Dan remained with Virtela until 2010.

Following their time at Virtela, Dan joined Prometheus Research LLC as a Unix Systems Administrator. In their five-year tenure, they took on a senior role, being responsible for various aspects of systems administration, including vendor negotiations, configuration management, task automation, and system architecture. Dan ensured compliance with HIPAA regulations and handled pre and post-sales engineering.

In 2015, Dan worked for two different companies concurrently. At Coinsetter, they served as a Contract Linux Systems Administrator/DevOps, taking care of backups, system architecture, automation, configuration management using Ansible, and security. Simultaneously, they served as a Cyber Systems Administrator at the Northrop Grumman Corporation, focusing on maintaining their information security systems and networks.

From 2015 to 2017, Dan worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in multiple roles. Dan initially joined as a Systems Development Engineer for the S3 Storage Platform Engineering team, where they engaged in hardware design, disk drive qualification, and automation work for the fleet of S3 storage servers. Later, they transitioned into a Systems Development Engineer role, managing the native AWS infrastructure of the AWS IoT product. Additionally, they worked as a Systems Engineer for the EC2 network and briefly contributed to the Amazon Linux team.

In 2019, Dan became an AWS Engineer at Resolution Bioscience, but their tenure lasted only until September of that year. In 2020, they joined red violet as a Senior DevOps Engineer, responsible for automating the company's high-performance computing data build process using various AWS services and scripting languages.

Currently, Dan is a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at CIQ - Ctrl IQ, Inc., working with both Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and AWS. Dan supports the Fuzzball and Rocky Linux Products, focusing on Kubernetes, containers, testing, and observability.

Dan F. attended Front Range Community College from 1997 to 2000 and obtained an Associate's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
