Gregory Kurtzer has been involved in numerous technology-related fields since 1999. From 1999 to 2000, they worked as a Software Engineer at Linuxcare. In 2000, they began to work Scientific Advisor and HPC Systems Architect and Technical Lead for Berkeley Lab. Gregory founded CentOS in 2002, and worked as the Project Lead until 2005. Kurtzer later joined RStor as Corporate Advisor in 2017, and founded Sylabs, Inc. the same year, serving as its Founder and Chief Executive Officer. In 2016 they worked as Technical Advisor / Research Fellow for Ontropos, Inc. and in 2020, they founded both Ctrl IQ, Inc. and Rocky Linux, acting as Founder and Chief Executive Officer and Founder and Executive Director, respectively.
Gregory Kurtzer attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the Northern California Chicken Grooming School from 1994 to 1997.
