Lara Flores, MSc, has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Lara started their career in 1998 at the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) as a Science/ESOL Educator. In this role, they developed and implemented curricula in Biology, Environmental Science, and Lab Science, catering to the needs of English Language Learners.

Lara then worked as an ESOL Coordinator at the Beaufort County School District from 2005 to 2006. Lara was responsible for testing and placing incoming students, conducting assessments, and facilitating communication between teachers, parents, and administration.

Lara Flores, MSc, has a diverse education history with a focus on zoology, secondary education, and cybersecurity. Lara began their educational journey in 1991 at Brigham Young University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Zoology/Secondary Education. This program lasted from 1991 to 1998.

Later, in 2000 and 2001, Lara attended American University, where they obtained a Graduate Certificate in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).

In 2019, Lara returned to their studies and enrolled at Grand Canyon University. Lara pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Cybersecurity, completing their studies in 2021.

In addition to their academic degrees, Lara has also obtained several certifications to further enhance their knowledge and skills in cybersecurity. In September 2022, they completed the "Cybersecurity Fundamentals" program at IBM. In October 2022, they obtained certifications in "PCI Compliance," "Vulnerability Management Detection & Response," and "Vulnerability Management Foundation" from Qualys. Most recently, in November 2022, Lara completed the "Cyber Security Bootcamp for Women" offered by the ICTTF - International Cyber Threat Task Force.
