Karen Prins has extensive experience in the healthcare industry. Karen is currently working as the Chief Operating Officer at Circle Health Group since July 2020. Prior to this, they were the Group CEO and Chief Executive Officer at BMI Healthcare from October 2017 to July 2020. From March 2011 to September 2017, they served as the Director of Operations at Netcare, and from November 2006 to February 2011, they were the Regional Director, responsible for the operational performance of 23 large multidisciplinary hospitals with 2822 beds.
Karen Prins attended the University of Pretoria from 1978 to 1984 and earned their Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in Medicine. Karen then returned to the same university from 1988 to 1991 to obtain a Master's degree in Medicine. In 2000 to 2003, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General. Karen later obtained a Master's degree in Project Management from the University of Pretoria in 2016.
