Andrea Morato Dixon

Andrea Morato Dixon has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Andrea most recently worked at CircleCI as a Software Engineer. In this role, they designed and implemented backend solutions for the Monetization team using Clojure.

Prior to that, Andrea worked at Social Nature as a Software Engineer, where they updated and maintained an e-commerce website and CMS using .NET. Andrea focused on feature development to decrease the load on the customer success team and scalability efforts.

Before that, they worked at Under Armour as a Software Engineer, developing cross-application features for the gym training functionality of MapMyFitness and MyFitnessPal. Andrea also assisted in CCPA/GDPR compliance efforts for data access and deletion.

Andrea also had experience at Civitas Learning as a Software Engineer, where they coordinated with various teams to prioritize issues, deliver value, and manage expectations. Andrea worked in an agile environment to implement new features.

Prior to that, they worked at Parknav - Street Parking Reinvented as a Software Engineer, where they improved a custom machine learning solution for parking predictions. Andrea also assisted in the switch from AWS to Azure and designed POCs for potential customers.

Andrea began their career at IBM as a Consultant, where they received training for WebSphere Commerce and Sterling Configure, Price, Quote. Andrea contributed to WebSphere Commerce projects focusing on performance testing, troubleshooting, and incorporating new requirements.

In their earlier years, Andrea interned and worked as a Staff Programmer at Parknav - Street Parking Reinvented, focusing on backend logic and server setup and upkeep. Andrea also worked as a Receptionist at Suffolk University, where they responded to calls in Spanish and English and assisted exchange students.

Lastly, Andrea worked as a Group Leader and Camp Counselor at SPORTS & LANGUAGE, where they conducted activities and supervised excursions for European students aged 11 to 17 at English language camps in various countries.

Andrea Morato Dixon completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2011 to 2012. Andrea then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at Universidad Pontificia Comillas, graduating in 2013. Most recently, they attended The University of Texas at Austin from 2017 to 2018, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering Management.
