Thomas Crouzier

Co-Founder and CSO at Cirqle Biomedical

Thomas Crouzier began their career in research in 2005 as a Masters Student in the group of Prof. Peter McFetridge at the University of Oklahoma. In 2007, they moved to Université Montpellier 2 to pursue a PhD in the group of Prof. Catherine Picart, where they gained independence in defining research questions, developed advanced laboratory skills, and developed written and oral communication skills. In 2010, they became a Postdoctoral Researcher in the same group, developing biopolymer-based thin films for the delivery of the BMP-2 growth factor. In 2011, Thomas moved to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where they developed new lines of research in the group of Prof. Katharina Ribbeck in the department of Biological Engineering. In 2014, they became a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1. In 2012, Thomas founded Connected Researchers, a web-based tool for researchers. In 2015, they became a Principal Investigator at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, leading a diverse group of master students, PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers. In 2020, Thomas became a Research Affiliate at AIMES. Finally, in 2016, Thomas became Co-Founder and CSO of Cirqle Biomedical, a company aiming to revolutionize female contraception with an on-demand, non-hormonal, worry-free solution.

Thomas Crouzier's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Montpellier from 2007 to 2010, a Master in Bionengineering from the University of Oklahoma from 2005 to 2007, and a 2006 in Génie biologique from Polytech Clermont from 2004 to 2007. Thomas also has two certifications as a Verified Peer Reviewer from Publons. In 2022, they are currently enrolled in a Boardwork & Corporate Governance for Life Science Startups course at the Copenhagen Business School.
