Owen Byrne

Owen Byrne is a seasoned technical leader with extensive experience in cloud security automation, currently employed at Cisco Systems since April 2012. At Cisco, Owen specializes in threat modeling, hardening, and designing solutions that include automated continuous security vulnerability scanning utilizing AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, and Cisco Norad’s APIs. Prior to this, Owen held prominent roles at HEAnet and Dublin City Council, gaining experience as a Project/Tech Leader, Senior Network Engineer, and Executive ITS Officer. Owen's earlier career also includes a position as a Software Engineer at Vallent Technologies. Academically, Owen holds a Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Dublin City University, a Higher Diploma in Computer Science from University College Cork, and a Bachelor's degree in English, Sociology, and Politics from University of Galway.
