Shannon McFarland

Shannon McFarland serves as the Global Vice President of Developer Relations at Cisco, bringing over two decades of experience to the role. Shannon is recognized for expertise in building and leading development and engineering teams, with a focus on Cloud Native and Application Networking technologies. As a Distinguished Engineer, Shannon has contributed to the Cisco OpenStack Suite's architecture and developed significant Cisco solutions for cloud computing and SDN. Previous positions include Principal Engineer roles and a Corporate Consulting Engineer where Shannon facilitated communication between R&D and customer needs. Shannon co-founded the Denver OpenStack Meetup and served on the Board of the Open Infrastructure Foundation. Prior work experiences include roles at Accudata Systems and Columbia HCA Healthcare, specializing in network engineering and systems support.
