Lee Steinke, MS, MBA, PG has worked in a variety of roles since 1994. Lee began their career as an Associate Editor at Heldref Publications, where they copy-edited Rocks & Minerals Magazine and proofread 40 additional periodicals. In 1997, they joined Texaco as a Geoscientist I and Geoscientist II, acting as a project manager for conventional exploration and development activity in 5 field areas. In 2003, they moved to TMG Marketing as a Marketing Manager, where they reported to the CEO and led marketing, business development, and public relations strategies and budgets. From 2011 to 2017, they worked at WPX Energy as a Geoscience Manager in the San Juan Basin and a Geology Manager in the Williston Basin, managing staffs of up to 12 scientists, technicians, data analysts, and supervisors for unconventional resource development programs with annual budgets in the hundreds of millions of dollars. From 2017 to 2021, they worked at Discovery Natural Resources LLC as the Vice President of Geoscience, where they were a part of the Executive Leadership Team and reported to the CEO, setting corporate strategy and frequently presenting to the board and investors. Lee then moved to the Space Foundation as a Contract Executive for Program Management, Strategy, and Special Projects from 2021 to 2022. Lee is currently a Contract Executive for Commercial Science & Technology at NewSpace New Mexico and the Chief Operating Officer at CisLunar Industries.

Lee Steinke, MS, MBA, PG obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Geology and Classics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between 1990 and 1994. Lee then went on to obtain their Master of Science (M.S.) in Geology and Geophysics from Yale University between 1995 and 1997. Finally, they received their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from The Wharton School between 2000 and 2002. Lee also holds a Professional Geoscientist certification.
