Mike Gentile

Mike Gentile is the Founder and CEO of CISOSHARE, where he has led the company since inception to become a global leader in security program services headquartered in San Clemente, CA.

Initially an experiment, the CISOSHARE culture strives to make the often-confusing security discipline understandable through a learning and teaching approach in everything it does. For the last two years, this approach has enabled the organization being recognized as the second and seventh overall fastest growing security company respectively on the Inc. 5000®

Mike is passionate about helping the communities through innovative approaches based on the learning and teaching method applied at CISOSHARE. In 2019, he founded CyberForward by CISOSHARE as a way to address both the cyber security resource shortage and the livable wage gap issues felt in many communities. This partner-enabled professional development program first identifies and then rapidly develops effective job-ready cyber security professionals.

In 2020, Mike was nominated for the Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award by the Orange County Business Journal, was an Outstanding Small Company CEO Finalist by OCTANE and an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® Semi-Finalist in the Orange County Region.

Prior to CISOSHARE, Mike co-founded, built and sold Delphiis, a leading GRC security company and is the coauthor of both the CISO Handbook (Auerbach, 2005) and CISO Soft Skills (CRC Press, 2008.)
