Austin Cousineau has a diverse background in hardware engineering with experience in various companies. Austin started their career as a Summer Student at Komtech Enterprises in 2011, where they operated large plastic injection molders and focused on producing quality parts. In 2012, they worked as an Electrical Co-op at Christie Digital Systems, where they supported the design team by performing extensive PCB rework and assembly.
In 2013, Austin joined Thalmic Labs as an Electrical Engineering (Co-op), where they played a vital role in designing the hardware, firmware, and software for an automated EMG sensor testing of the MYO. Austin gained experience in high-density PCB design, EMC & ESD qualification and testing, and component selection. Austin was highly valued by the design team and was asked back as a result.
Continuing their career in 2013, Austin returned to Christie Digital Systems as an Electrical Co-op and contributed to the design and production of complex products. Austin performed extensive testing and troubleshooting, designed PCBs, and gained experience in high-speed multilayer PCB design. Austin worked with Agile PLM for project information control.
In 2015, Austin joined Apple as an iPhone HW Systems Co-op, where they gained experience in iPhone hardware systems. Later that year, they returned to Facebook as a Storage Systems Engineering Co-op and continued in a similar role in 2019 as a Network Hardware Engineer. During their time at Facebook, Austin worked on storage and network hardware engineering projects.
Most recently, Austin joined Citadel Securities in 2023 as a Hardware Engineer, where they currently work.
Austin Cousineau attended Donald A. Wilson S.S. from 2007 to 2011, where they completed their high school education. Following that, from 2011 to 2016, Austin enrolled at the University of Waterloo, majoring in Electrical Engineering and specializing in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
