Greg Munro has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Greg currently holds the position of Director at Cities Alliance, hosted by UNOPS. Prior to this, they served as the Secretary General at the Commonwealth Local Government Forum, where they supported local development across 53 countries and focused on sustainable urbanization and global advocacy. Before that, Greg worked at the International HIV/AIDS Alliance as the Director of Technical Cooperation, where they coordinated global technical support for civil society organizations. Greg also held the role of Senior Regional Capacity Development Manager at UNAIDS Technical Support Facility, providing programmatic and thematic support in Eastern and Southern Africa. Additionally, Greg worked as a Global Fund Advisor at the World Bank/Government of Lesotho and as a Strategic Executive at various South African local government entities.
Greg Munro obtained their MBChB degree in Medicine from the University of Cape Town in 1984. Greg then pursued a Diploma in Health Services Management (DHSM) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 1990. In the same year, they also earned a Masters of Medicine in Public Health from the same university. Greg furthered their education by completing a Fellowship in Community Health (FFCH) at the College of Medicine of South Africa in 1994. Lastly, they obtained a Masters of Philosophy from the University of Stellenbosch in 2008.
