Paul James is a highly accomplished leader with extensive experience in operational and strategic leadership within the military and financial services sectors. They served in the UK Royal Marines from 1990 to 2008, filling various command and leadership roles, including commanding a 680-man Commando Unit in Afghanistan, for which they received the Distinguished Service Order. After their military career, they held significant positions at Citi and the UK Ministry of Defence, including as Regulatory Programs Director and Assistant Director for the London Olympics. Paul has also been involved in high-level strategic development as the Strategy Director for the Royal Navy from 2014 to 2017. They hold a Master of Arts in Defence and Business Management from Cranfield University.
