John Saveland has over 10 years of professional experience in digital marketing and communications. John began their career in 2012 as an independent consultant, providing branding and community outreach services to nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles. In 2013, they joined Starlight Children's Foundation as Manager of Social Media, where they led the digital presence of Starlight's Global Brand team to drive issue awareness and increase base of supporters and donors. In 2015, they became Manager of Social Media for the RAND Corporation. In 2016, they were promoted to Associate Director of Search & Social at Maxus. In 2017, they joined Media Storm as Director of Social Media and Search, where they were responsible for the paid social marketing for Open Road Films. From 2019 to 2021, they held roles at CitizenNet, A Condé Nast Company as Paid Social Media Director/Consultant and OMD USA as Associate Director. In 2020, they took on a Social Media Strategy role at Accelerate Change Network, where they managed and executed GOTV campaigns for ProgressPop. Currently, they are the Director at Golin.

John Saveland completed their Masters in Public Policy from the University of Southern California from 2011 to 2013. John also obtained their Bachelor of Arts in English & Communications from Wheaton College from 1998 to 2002.
