Craig Berry

Craig Berry is a Senior Policy Researcher at Citizens Advice, focusing on Universal Credit since June 2023. Previously, Berry served as an Associate Professor in Economic Policy and Head of Policy at the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose, where research centered on industrial and innovation policy. Berry held the position of Reader in Political Economy and Head of Future Economies at Manchester Metropolitan University, leading the development of an MSc program in Political Economy and Public Policy. Other roles include Deputy and Acting Director at the Sheffield Political Economy Research Institute, Pensions Policy Officer at the TUC, and various lecturer and research positions in higher education. Berry's educational background encompasses a BA in Politics, an MA in Research Methods, and a PhD focused on Globalisation and UK trade policy, all obtained from the University of Sheffield.
