Julie L. Shapiro

Julie L. Shapiro is a seasoned leader in the nonprofit sector with extensive experience in education, youth development, and community initiatives. Currently serving as Chief Executive Officer at the Citizens Committee for New York City, Julie previously held the position of Senior Vice President at TNTP, where strategic policy and community coalitions were prioritized. As CEO of the Fund for Public Schools, Julie facilitated partnerships crucial for the NYC Department of Education, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior experiences include serving as Executive Director at The Door - A Center of Alternatives, impacting youth development for over 11,000 young individuals annually, and holding senior roles at Seedco and FEGS Health and Human Services System, focusing on job creation and educational programs for disadvantaged communities.
