Joe Martins

Joe Martins is an accomplished internal audit professional with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as the Chief of Internal Audit at Citizens Property Insurance since June 2012, Joe Martins provides leadership and management for internal audit, enterprise risk, and internal control activities aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization while mitigating fraud risks. Previously, Joe Martins held positions as AVP/Audit Director at Zurich North America and Group Audit Manager for Zurich Insurance Company in South Africa, where oversight included forensic risk management and group security. Joe Martins also contributed to the Institute of Internal Auditors in South Africa as the VP Company Secretary from 2001 to 2004. Joe Martins holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Internal Auditing from the University of South Africa, obtained between 1990 and 1994.
