Gene'A Mitchell

Gene'a Mitchell has a diverse work experience in the education and non-profit sectors. Gene'a is currently serving as the Director of Programs at ENVISIONEERS since July 2021. Before that, they worked at Citizen Schools from 2018, where they held the position of Senior Campus Director and later became a Campus Director. In these roles, they focused on integrating Citizen Schools' program model into public-school environments, promoting alignment and collaboration with school administration, and implementing Extended Learning Time programs to close the opportunity gap.

Prior to their work at Citizen Schools, Gene'a Mitchell served as an Impact Manager at City Year from 2016 to 2018. Gene'a implemented City Year's Whole School Whole Child service model at two different schools and was also selected to participate in a Culture Working Group to improve organizational cultural norms. Before that, they worked at City Year Boston as a Senior AmeriCorps Member, leading and coaching Corps Members in providing academic and engagement activities for students, as well as an AmeriCorps Member, supporting students in high-poverty communities through tutoring, attendance monitoring, and community projects.

Gene'a Mitchell's work experience also includes a role as a Resident Assistant at Howard University from 2012 to 2014. In this position, they assisted in creating a positive environment for students living in residence halls, implemented programs for community development and personal growth, and handled administrative tasks.

Gene'a Mitchell attended Howard University from 2011 to 2014, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a focus on Speech-Language Pathology.
