Aliya Chisti is an experienced policy analyst and elected trustee with a strong background in education policy and community health. Currently serving as a Senior Policy Analyst for the City and County of San Francisco since December 2021, Aliya has also held the position of Elected Trustee at the City College of San Francisco since January 2021. Prior roles include Senior Analyst at the San Francisco Department of Children, Youth and Their Families and Senior Legislative Aide to District 10 Supervisor Malia Cohen, where Aliya championed the "Beyond the Box" legislation to support students with criminal justice backgrounds. Aliya's experience extends to international teaching as a Fulbright Scholar, legislative internships with the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, and leadership within academic settings at Columbia University and New York University. Aliya Chisti holds a Master of Arts in Education Policy from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science from the University of California, Davis.
