Cara Ruppert

Cara Ruppert is a seasoned professional in landscape architecture and project management, currently serving as Senior Project Manager and Deputy Director of the Capital Division at the City and County of San Francisco's Recreation & Parks Department since May 2014. In this role, Cara manages park renovation projects, supervises a team of project managers, and leads the division. Prior to this position, Cara was a Landscape Architect at Miller Company Landscape Architects, where project work included notable public spaces in San Francisco. Extensive experience also includes a role as Senior Associate/Landscape Architect at RHAA, overseeing large public park projects and community facilitation efforts. Earlier career stages involved landscape design and research roles with firms and organizations such as the Office of Matthew Gaber, The Fitch Studio, Quennell Rothschild & Partners, and the National Park Service. Cara holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia and a BA in Cultural Landscapes and Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley.
