Shanie Lau

Shanie Lau has a diverse work experience in graphic design and creative roles. Shanie is currently working as the Creative Director at City Beauty, LLC since November 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Graphic Designer at City Beauty from November 2017 to November 2019. In this role, they designed the logo, developed brand guidelines, and oversaw the creation of all branded creatives. Shanie also conducted research on marketing tactics and beauty brands to optimize website pages and drive revenue.

Before joining City Beauty, Shanie worked as a Lead Graphic Designer at Golden Hippo Media from June 2014 to November 2017. Shanie was responsible for developing brand guidelines, conducting market research, and creating user-friendly website pages and email graphics to increase revenue and engagement.

Shanie also has experience as a Freelance Graphic Designer, working briefly for Say Ça! in February 2016. Shanie participated in a community leadership program funded by Fulbright Canada and the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa.

In addition, Shanie worked as a Designer at Machine Jeans in March 2014, where they collaborated with another graphic designer on top designs. Shanie also worked as a Graphic Designer at Looksy in March 2014, creating email graphics and website banners for new and featured collections.

Furthermore, Shanie gained valuable experience as a Graphic Design Intern at the University of Florida from May 2013 to January 2014. Shanie collaborated with various departments to create logos, flyers, and posters based on their requirements and research.

Before that, they worked as a Designer at One Greek Store from July 2013 to December 2013, advising and designing graphics for Greek clothing and paraphernalia. Shanie also worked as a Graphic Design Intern at the Pledge 5 Foundation from May 2013 to July 2013, creating promotional images and graphics for their events.

Lastly, Shanie worked as a Freelance Photographer for Hiro Asian Sandwich from November 2012 to June 2013.

Shanie Lau attended Eastside High School from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. Following their high school education, Shanie pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Visual Arts Studies from the University of Florida, also from 2008 to 2012.
