Mike Plagge, CIH, CSP has over 30 years of experience in the field of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS). Mike has held various leadership positions throughout their career, including roles as Director of EHS at City Brewing Company, Hearth & Home Technologies, and Wells Enterprises. At Wells Enterprises, they provided strategic direction and leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety, health, environment, and sustainability. Mike developed and implemented EHS management systems, led wastewater improvements, and developed sustainability programs.

Prior to their time at Wells Enterprises, Plagge worked as a Director of EHS at ConAgra Foods, managing regulatory compliance and driving continuous improvement in EHS and sustainability. Mike also served as an EHS Manager, coordinating investigations and research activities related to exposures in flavorings and food ingredients.

Earlier in their career, Plagge worked at Marshall Erdman & Associates as the Manager of EHS, where they successfully reduced injuries, illness, hazardous waste, and disposal costs. Mike also gained experience as a Safety and Facilities Supervisor at American Superconductor, managing EHS, security, and facilities for manufacturing sites.

Plagge began their EHS career at ComEd, an Exelon Company, where they served as the Principal Industrial Hygienist, developing and managing EHS programs for power generation facilities and substations. Mike was responsible for ensuring environmental compliance and reducing injury and illness across various operations.

Throughout their career, Plagge has demonstrated expertise in EHS management, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and continuous improvement.

Mike Plagge, CIH, CSP, holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Environment, Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Engineering. Mike obtained this degree from The University of Toledo, where they studied from 1988 to 1991. Prior to this, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Science and Chemistry from Manchester University, where they attended from 1984 to 1988.

In addition to their formal education, Mike Plagge has obtained two certifications. Mike is a Certified Safety Professional, certified by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals in 2004. Mike is also a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), certified by the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC®) in November 1994.
