Justin Kearnan

Justin Kearnan, AIA has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Justin is currently working as the Managing Director at City Collective since January 2024. Prior to that, they held the position of Assistant Professor of Practice at North Carolina State University starting from November 2022. From September 2020 to January 2024, they served as the Planning and Urban Design Leader | Associate Principal at LS3P ASSOCIATES LTD. Justin also worked as a Principal at City Collective from 2018 to 2020. Before that, they were a Project Manager in the City Design Practice at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) from 2015 to 2018. Justin has also worked with Elkus Manfredi Architects as a Project Architect / Urban Designer from 2012 to 2015, and with AECOM as an Architectural Associate from 2011 to 2012. Justin gained experience in architectural associate and planning roles at MBTA from 2011 to 2012 and at RMX from 2010 to 2011. Additionally, they worked as a Carpenter at Work of Art Contractors from 2007 to 2009. Their extensive background reflects their expertise in architecture, urban design, and planning.

Justin Kearnan, AIA, holds a Master of Urban Design (M.UD) degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Justin also has a Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree and a Bachelor of Science of Architecture (B.S.Arch) degree, both of which were obtained from the Wentworth Institute of Technology. Their field of study during their B.S.Arch degree was Urbanism. Furthermore, Justin has additional certifications including being a member of The American Institute of Architects (AIA), a Licensed Architect in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
