Brian McCormick has an extensive work experience in the field of sports science and strength and conditioning. Brian started their career in 2018 as a Strength and Conditioning Assistant at NRL Victoria - Thunderbolts. In the same year, they also worked as a Trainer at La Trobe University Sports Centre. Brian then joined Melbourne City FC in 2018, initially as a Sports Science & Strength and Conditioning Intern. Brian later took on the role of Sports Science Coordinator and currently holds the position of Lead Sport Scientist. Additionally, since 2018, Brian has been working as an Anatomy Demonstrator at La Trobe University. Their work experience spans across various roles and responsibilities in sports science and conditioning.
Brian McCormick obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sport and Exercise Science from La Trobe University from 2016 to 2018. In 2019, they received an Honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the same institution. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Strength and Conditioning at La Trobe University, expected to be completed from 2022 to 2025. Brian also holds additional certifications including Allied Health Assistant from Exercise Research Australia and Level 1 Anthropometry from The International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry, as well as Level 2 Strength and Conditioning Coach from the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA).
