Abid Ismail

Abid Ismail has a strong background in finance and leadership roles. Abid currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer at City & Guilds since 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Financial Officer at Airfinity Ltd from 2021 to 2023, where they successfully rebuilt the finance and HR teams and led a Series A extension round. Before that, they held the position of Chief Financial Officer at various companies from 2019 to 2021. Abid also played a key role in the growth of eve sleep, where they served as the Chief Financial Officer & Co-founder from 2016 to 2019, guiding the company through an accelerated listing process on the London Stock Exchange and managing city reporting. Abid began their career at EY in 2003 as an Assistant Director, specializing in PPP, Infrastructure assets, and M&A. Abid also held leadership positions at AXELOS Global Best Practice, where they served as the Chief Executive Officer (formerly Chief Financial Officer), and Capita, where they were the Director of Group Finance Integrations.

Abid Ismail completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Economics at City University (GB) from 1996 to 1999. Abid then went on to pursue the ACA qualification at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, starting in 2003.
