Robert Behnke

Robert Behnke is an experienced public servant and educator currently serving as a City Commissioner for the City of Adrian since November 2023. Behnke also co-coordinates the Moriyama Japan Exchange Program for the Lenawee Intermediate School District, starting in August 2022. Previously, Behnke worked as an educational consultant for Addison Community Schools from December 2023 to May 2024, and served as the Superintendent of Adrian Public Schools from February 2014 to March 2022, where efforts focused on enhancing school-community relations. Behnke's experience includes leadership roles in Northville Public Schools and Huron Valley Schools, demonstrating a commitment to improving academic rigor and student success. Educational qualifications include degrees from Wayne State University, Grand Canyon University, Eastern Michigan University, and Central Michigan University, with a focus on educational leadership and public administration.
