Joseph Penze

Joseph Penze is a seasoned law enforcement professional currently serving as Commander for the City of Apache Junction since July 2021. Prior to this role, Joseph held the position of Chief of Staff / Deputy Chief of Police for the Village of Niles, IL from March 1989 to June 2021. Joseph began a career in security as a Security Specialist for the Village of Rosemont from January 1988 until June 2021, and earlier worked in sales at Abt Electronics from April 1985 to December 1988. Joseph holds a Master's degree in Public Safety Executive Leadership from St. Cloud State University, completed various programs at Northwestern University, and participated in the Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Academy, Class 240. Additionally, Joseph earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Kendall College and attended the Senior Management Institute for Police.
