Debra Van Den Bogart has a diverse work experience starting in 1983 and continuing until the present. Debra began their career as the Economic Research Director at the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, where they worked until 1987. Debra then transitioned to a role as a Research Paralegal at Mulcahy & Wherry/Godfrey & Kahn until 1992. From 1992 to 1998, they served as the Acting Director and Senior Analyst at Brown County. Finally, since 1998, they have been employed at the City of Appleton as the Deputy Director of Human Resources, where they are responsible for a wide range of HR functions and leads a team of professionals.

Debra Van Den Bogart obtained a Certificate in Human Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 1987. In 2001, they completed a Certified Public Manager Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and obtained a certificate in the same field. Debra also holds additional certifications in Wisconsin Certified Public Manager, obtained in April 2001 from the State of Wisconsin, and Personnel Management, obtained in May 1997 from UW Green Bay.
