John Chapman

John Chapman, AICP, CNU-A, is a seasoned planning professional currently serving as the Long Range Planning Manager for the City of Arlington since September 2024. Previously, Chapman held the position of Principal Long Range Planner for the Town of Flower Mound, where responsibilities included leading the amendment process for the Town's Subdivision Ordinance and conducting research on various contemporary planning topics. Experience also encompasses roles as a Planner for the City of Mesquite, where oversight of development applications and training on permitting systems were key duties, and as a Planning Technician with the City of North Richland Hills, focusing on goals and data management. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Affairs and Administration from the University of Oklahoma and an Associate’s Degree in Science from North Central Texas College.
