Stacy Kelly has a strong background in law enforcement and leadership roles. Stacy currently serves as the Chief of Police at the City of Astoria, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Axon from 2017 to 2022, where they held the positions of Professional Services Manager and Director of Training Operations. In these roles, Stacy was responsible for coordinating staff, providing training, and integrating new programs. From 2013 to 2022, they worked at The Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies as a Team Leader and Assessor, conducting assessments and ensuring compliance with standards. Before that, they worked at the Newport News Police Department from 2005 to 2017, where they held various leadership positions such as Assistant Chief of Police, Police Captain, and Training Lieutenant. Stacy's experience includes overseeing large teams, implementing outreach programs, and collaborating with stakeholders in the community.
Stacy Kelly has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Saint Leo University, which they obtained in 2004. Stacy also holds an Associate of Science degree in Police Science from Thomas Nelson Community College, earned in 1996. In 2016, Stacy completed a Graduate Certificate program in Criminal Justice Education at the University of Virginia. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications, including Project Management Foundations from LinkedIn and multiple certifications from CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies) such as Accreditation Manager, Gold Standard Assessor, Power DMS, and Team Leader Certifications.
