Amir Farokhi is a seasoned public servant and executive with extensive experience in leadership roles across various organizations. Currently serving as a City Council Member for the City of Atlanta since January 2018, Amir also holds the position of Executive Director for US Programs at CARE, a role commenced in January 2019. Additionally, Amir worked as a Fellow for the Civil Society Fellowship at The Aspen Institute from November 2020 to June 2024, and previously, as Director of Strategy for BrightHouse at Boston Consulting Group from January 2016 to September 2017. Amir has also served as Chief Operating Officer for College Advising Corps from July 2013 to December 2015 and founded GeorgiaForward, where Amir acted as Executive Director from January 2010 to July 2013. Early in Amir's career, a tenure as an Attorney at McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP lasted from September 2004 to July 2009. Amir holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Duke University, a Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law, and graduated from The Galloway School.
