Brett Sherman, P.E. has extensive work experience in civil engineering and consulting. Brett is currently the owner of Sherman Engineering and Consulting, where they provide civil engineering consultation services. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Utilities at the City of Brighton from 2020 to 2022. Brett also worked as the Principal Engineer Public Works at the City of Aurora starting in 2018. Before that, Brett served as a Consulting Engineer and Vice President at Harris Water Engineering, Inc. from 2011 to 2011, where they focused on civil engineering design and construction management. Brett was also a Senior Project Engineer at the same company, specializing in water-related infrastructure and site designs. Brett has further experience as a Master Patrolman and EMT at Durango Mountain Resort, as well as various roles at Sherman Engineering, LLC, United Pipeline Systems, La Plata County, Build Inc., and Granite Construction, where they gained expertise in project management, engineering, and supervision for a diverse range of construction projects.
Brett Sherman, P.E. graduated with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering & Computer Science from Colorado State University in 1988. Prior to that, they attended the University of Colorado Boulder in 1981 and 1982, studying Environmental Design. Brett completed their high school education at Durango High School from 1978 to 1981.
