James Merchant

James Merchant is an accomplished Senior Tax Auditor with extensive experience in both governmental and private sector roles. Currently serving at the City of Aurora since April 2021 and previously at the City of Westminster, Colorado, James has demonstrated expertise in tax auditing and compliance, applying conventional audit techniques to various organizations. Past roles include ownership of CrossFit Barkada and positions at The Broe Group and Naval Supply Systems Command, where operational audits and inventory assessments were completed. James's career began in management at Wild Wing Café and as a staff auditor at Wal-Mart Corporation, showcasing a solid foundation in accounting and operational efficiency. James holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Information Systems from Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business.
