Brian Molloy has a diverse and extensive work history. Brian began their career as a Law Clerk at Attorneys' Title Guaranty Fund in 2007, followed by a role as a Team Lead Contract Attorney at Kelly Law Registry from 2009 to 2013. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as an Investigator at the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration for the Government of the District of Columbia.

In 2013, Molloy became an Associate Attorney at Mallios & O'Brien, where they provided legal guidance to various establishments and defended clients accused of violations. Brian then joined the Office of the City Auditor in 2014 as a Senior Investigator, focusing on uncovering fraud, waste, and abuse within the City of Austin government.

Molloy's dedication to uncovering wrongdoing continued when they became a Supervisory Senior Investigator at the Office of the City Auditor in 2016. In this role, they managed a team of investigators and ensured comprehensive reports were produced to guide responsible governance decisions. Brian also worked concurrently as an Investigative Compliance Consultant at UnitedHealth Group, leading investigations into compliance and regulatory issues.

Most recently, Molloy has been serving as the Chief of Investigations at the City of Austin since 2018. In this position, they manage all fraud, waste, and abuse investigations for the City, improves ethics structures, presents evidence before various City commissions, and reports findings to City Council members.

Brian Molloy earned a Juris Doctor degree in Intellectual Property and Information Technology from DePaul University College of Law in the years 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, they obtained a B.A. in Economics and Classical Archaeology from the University of Michigan from 2002 to 2005. Additionally, they hold various certifications including the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Government Auditing Professional, and Certified Fraud Examiner, all obtained in 2015. Brian is also licensed to practice law in the DC Bar since 2012 and in the State of Illinois since 2008. Furthermore, they received a Legal Certificate in Intellectual Property - Information Technology Law from DePaul University College of Law in 2008.
