Ashia Caraway currently serves as Chief of Staff for the Office of Councilwoman Phylicia Porter within the Baltimore City Council, a position held since August 2022, after previously serving as a Legislative Assistant in the same office. Additionally, Ashia is involved with Capital City Public Charter School as a Lead 8th Grade Humanities Teacher and is a member of the Equite Core Committee. Past experience includes a Policy and Advocacy Fellowship with Leadership for Educational Equity, technical writing for the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education, and several roles with Teach For America, including Corps Transition Leader and Corps Member.
