Karen Wray is an experienced human resources professional with a strong focus on talent management and labour relations. Since July 2008, Karen has served as the Manager of People and Partnerships at the City of Barrie, leading the development and implementation of corporate-wide programs that align with the Corporation’s Staff Strategic Plan. Previous roles include Manager of Employee and Labour Relations, where responsibilities included providing support in contract administration and performance management, and Labour Relations Specialist, offering guidance on collective agreements and conflict resolution. Earlier experience includes positions as a Recruiter at the Regional Municipality of York and Human Resources Associate at the Region of Peel, where Karen provided comprehensive HR support. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Western University, a Certificate in Human Resources Management from Humber College, and a Diploma in Social Service Work from Sheridan College.
