Michelle Banfield

Michelle Banfield currently serves as the Executive Director of Development Services for the City of Barrie, where responsibilities include contributing to the city's growth through planning recommendations, engineering approvals, and transportation services. With a strong background in various leadership roles within the City of Barrie, including Director of Development Services and Director of Planning and Building Services, Michelle has demonstrated expertise in development approvals, strategic planning, and community engagement. Previous experience includes positions with LARKIN+ land use planners inc., the Town of Innisfil, and the Government of Bermuda, showcasing a commitment to effective policy development and engagement with municipal planning processes. Michelle holds a Master's Degree in Adult and Continuing Education and Teaching and Community Development from Athabasca University and a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies, Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo.
