Wendy Bednarek has extensive experience in human resources. Wendy started their career as a Human Resources Manager at Pier 1 Imports from an unspecified time until 2003. Wendy then worked as an Area Human Resources Manager at Lowe's from 2004 to 2008. Following this, they joined the Village of Hanover Park as a Human Resources Generalist from February 2008 to November 2009. Wendy was then promoted to Director of Human Resources at the same company and held the position until June 2015. In July 2015, Wendy joined the City of Batavia Illinois as their Director of Human Resources and is currently in the role. Throughout their career, Wendy has managed all aspects of HR, including payroll, benefits, records management, recruiting, and employee event/recognition programs. Wendy has also been responsible for policy creation, compensation management, and conducting internal investigations and grievances. Additionally, Wendy has experience with labor management, including collective bargaining responsibilities for multiple unions. Wendy has supervised a staff of three in their previous role.
Wendy Bednarek obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Anderson University, where they studied from 1990 to 1994. In addition to their degree, they also hold a certification as a Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP) from the National Public Employer Labor Relations Association, which they obtained in October 2016.
