Originally established in 1833, the City of Batavia Illinois is located 35 miles west of Chicago on the banks of the Fox River. This location served industries with water and power that drove production at several of the world’s leading windmill manufacturers.

On Batavia’s eastern edge sits Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, a world-leading scientific research facility specializing in particle physics.
