Originally established in 1833, the City of Batavia Illinois is located 35 miles west of Chicago on the banks of the Fox River. This location served industries with water and power that drove production at several of the world’s leading windmill manufacturers.

These days,  leading manufacturers, distributors and retailers such as Suncast Corporation, Barco Products, Flagsource, VWR, Aldi Corporation and Chicago Expert Importers have their headquarters or central offices in Batavia. The city is ideally located on major state and county highways offering access to interstate highways in minutes.
 
On Batavia’s eastern edge sits Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, a world-leading scientific research facility specializing in particle physics. On its western side sits some of the most valuable and productive agricultural and development property in the world. The Fox River flows through the heart of downtown, providing natural beauty and recreation along its banks.
