Helen Guzzo

Helen Guzzo is an experienced community development professional with a strong background in managing programs related to homeless assistance and community development. Currently serving as the Community Development Manager for the City of Battle Creek, Michigan, since September 2023, Guzzo previously held the position of Senior Services Manager at Calhoun County, MI, from May 2017 to August 2023, and worked as a Community Development Specialist for the City of Battle Creek from 2014 to 2017. With a robust history as an independent consultant and leadership roles in various nonprofit organizations, including a tenure as Executive Director of the Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness, Guzzo has developed extensive expertise in grant writing, strategic planning, and policy advocacy. Guzzo holds a Master's in Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore and a Bachelor's in Urban Community Policy from Michigan State University.
