Matthew Clancy has a diverse work experience in law enforcement and military. Matthew started their career in 1986 as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps and served until 1992. Matthew then joined the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office as a Patrol Sergeant from 1993 to 1997. Following that, they worked at the Beaufort Police Department, where they served as an Investigative Lieutenant from 1998 to 2000 and as a Deputy Chief of Police from 2000 to 2008. In 2008, they became the Chief of Police at the City of Beaufort, where they currently hold their position.
Matthew Clancy's education history includes attending the University of Virginia in 2005, where they pursued studies in FBI National Academy (FBI NA). Additionally, in the same year, they also completed the FBI National Academy's training program in Law Enforcement. Prior to that, from 1982 to 1986, Clancy attended The Citadel, though specific details about their degree or field of study are not available.
