David Spiller is an experienced law enforcement professional currently serving as Police Chief for the City of San Rafael since March 2021, after a tenure as Police Chief in Pleasanton from August 2002 until November 2019. Additionally, David has held interim leadership positions, including Interim Police Chief for the City of Menlo Park, and has worked as a contractor for the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation. In academia, David contributes as an Adjunct Professor at Las Positas College since January 2013. David’s career in policing began at the San Diego Police Department and continued at the Mountain View Police Department, where David progressed through various ranks. David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Behavior Studies from the University of San Francisco and a Master of Arts in Leadership Studies from Saint Mary's College of California, along with several professional development certificates.
