Chris Boone is an experienced urban planning and community development professional currently serving as the Assistant City Manager for the City of Beaumont since November 2022. Prior to this role, Chris held the position of Interim City Manager for the City of Beaumont from April 2022 to September 2022, and served as the Director of Planning & Community Development from July 2006 to April 2022. Earlier in Chris's career, significant roles included Director of Public Works for the City of West Orange, Texas, and Deputy Director of Land Use Administration for the City of Mobile, Alabama. Chris began professional experience as an intern with Buckhurst Fish & Jacquemart, Inc. Chris Boone holds a Master of Urban Planning from NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a Bachelor of Arts in History from The University of Alabama.

The City of Beaumont is located in Southeast Texas, approximately 85 miles east of Houston. The city's population is 118,000. Beaumont is a full-service municipality, and serves as the county seat for Jefferson County. Beaumont operates under a council-manager system of government, in which the elected, part-time council appoints a city manager, who acts as the chief executive officer for city affairs. The City Council meets every Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, located on the 1st floor of City Hall, 801 Main Street. Council member offices are located on the 3rd floor of City Hall in Suite 300. Meetings are televised on Time Warner Cable Channel 4 Wednesday through Sunday at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
