Valerie Nguyen

Valerie Nguyen is a Sustainability Program Specialist with the City of Berkeley since September 2022, previously serving as a CivicSpark Fellow. Valerie has diverse experience in environmental policy and community engagement, including roles as a Vector Control District Intern at County of Santa Clara and a Fellow in the Office of Councilmember Rigel Robinson. At the University of California, Berkeley, Valerie contributed as an Undergraduate Researcher in the Zero Waste Lab and as a UCDC Ambassador. Valerie's internship experience includes policy research at the Environmental and Energy Study Institute and legislative work within the California State Assembly. Valerie's leadership roles include serving as Chapter Chair for CALPIRG Students, where initiatives led to significant membership growth and successful fundraising efforts. Valerie holds a Bachelor's degree in Society and Environment from the University of California, Berkeley.
