Russell Smith

Stormwater Program - Project Coordinator at CITY OF BOZEMAN

Russell Smith is an experienced environmental professional with a diverse background in project coordination, ecological restoration, and music. Since August 2021, Russell has served as Project Coordinator and Technician for the Stormwater Program at the City of Bozeman. Prior to this role, Russell worked as a Wastewater Treatment Operator and Chief Plant Operator for the City of Livingston and owned RF Smith & Sons, LLC, focusing on enhancing ecological and financial value in environmental projects. Russell’s scientific expertise includes positions as Senior Scientist at Phytologics, LLC, and KC Harvey Environmental, LLC, with a focus on disturbed lands reclamation and wetland restoration. In addition to a strong environmental career, Russell has been a double bassist and vocalist for the Montana-based bluegrass band, Two Bit Franks, and has contributed to various musical projects since 1986. Russell holds a Master of Science degree in Land Resources and Environmental Sciences from Montana State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Conservation and Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder.
