Angelo Collazo has a diverse work experience in the law enforcement and education sectors. Angelo has held various roles throughout their career, including Lieutenant at Bridgeport Police Academy, where they demonstrated exemplary leadership and oversaw comprehensive training programs. Angelo also served as the Assistant Director of School Security at the City of Bridgeport Connecticut, where they directed school resource officer program operations. Angelo has extensive experience in logistics planning, team leadership, internal and onsite investigations, and testifying at hearings. Angelo is currently working as a Methods of Instruction Instructor at the Bridgeport Police Academy, where they are responsible for teaching and certifying police instructors in the State of Connecticut. Angelo Collazo is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice and Leadership at the University of New Haven, beginning in 2021 and expected to graduate in 2024. Prior to this, from 2018 to 2021, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice with a focus on Law Enforcement Administration at Post University.
In terms of additional certifications, Angelo obtained an Executive Leadership Course from FBI-LEEDA in March 2022. Angelo also holds certifications as an Active Aggressor Instructor from the Police Officer Standard Training Council, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt from Cruvenel Brothers/Gfteam, and ICS 100 and ICS 600 certifications from FEMA, all obtained in January 2021 and 2020, respectively.
Furthermore, they have achieved certifications as a Critical Incident Management Instructor, Use of Force Instructor, and Leadership Instructor from the Police Officer Standard Training Council, obtained in 2019 and 2015.
