Mandip Samra has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Mandip started their career as an Intern at Interscope Records and later worked at NASA Headquarters as a Maxwell Graduate School Consultant. Mandip then joined the Port of Long Beach, where they worked in Transportation Planning, conducting legislative analysis and addressing economic and environmental impacts. Mandip also worked as a Management Analyst for the City of Pasadena before becoming an Associate at Robert Charles Lesser Co.

In 2007, Mandip joined the City of Anaheim as a Senior Integrated Resources Planner, focusing on regulatory and legislative issues. During this time, they developed and managed the city's Integrated Resource Plans, handled renewable portfolio standard requirements, and prepared staff reports on complex issues.

Mandip then moved to Southern California Edison (SCE) as a Senior Regulatory Manager, where they dealt with regulatory matters. Mandip later joined the City of Pasadena again as the Head of Power Resource Planning, leading the Integrated Resource Plan process and managing environmental and sustainability initiatives. Mandip also served as the Vice Chair of the Human Relations Commission during this time.

Prior to their current role, Mandip was the CEO of Energy and Policy Consulting, where they led the company from 2016 to 2021. Currently, they serve as the Head of Power Supply at the City of Burbank, overseeing power plant operations, energy trading, resource planning, and compliance efforts. Mandip is responsible for managing contract negotiations, mentoring staff, and representing the department at various agencies and committees.

Throughout their career, Mandip has demonstrated expertise in power supply strategies, contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement. Mandip has also presented at conferences, workshops, and industry events, representing the organizations they worked for.

Mandip Samra is a graduate of Leadership Pasadena's Leadership Program in 2020, where they studied Educational Leadership and Administration. They also hold a Bachelor's degree in Economics from UCLA with a minor in Public Policy. Additionally, Mandip has a Master's degree in Planning from the University of Southern California, specializing in Urban Planning. They further obtained a Master's degree in Public Administration from Syracuse University's Maxwell School, which is recognized as the top program in the country.
