Melissa Mickey

Melissa Mickey currently serves as Communications Manager for the City of Cape Coral since August 2021, having previously held roles as Senior Public Information Specialist and Public Information Specialist within the same organization. Prior experience includes the position of Communications Coordinator/Public Records Manager with the School District of Lee County from September 2016 to August 2021, and Newsroom Assignment Manager at The E.W. Scripps Company from September 2014 to September 2016. Additionally, Melissa worked at the Florida Department of Children and Families in various roles, including Adult Protective Investigator/Interim Supervisor from June 2009 to September 2014 and Child Protective Investigator from November 2002 to November 2005. Early career experience includes serving as a News Producer at Waterman Broadcasting Of Florida LLC from December 2000 to November 2002. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of South Florida and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Florida Gulf Coast University, projected to complete in June 2027.
